Dr. Bourla graduated from the Ben Gurion University and Joyce and Irving Goldman School of Medicine in Israel. She specialized in ophthalmology at Sheba Medical Center in the Goldschleger Eye Institute, and sub-specialized in corneal disease and surgery at UCLA in the Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, California.
